Localized demo for Europe

SEGA has released the demo for Children of the Nile on their website in the following languages:
  • German
  • Italian
  • French
  • Spanish
  • English disk includes quick starts in Finnish and Swedish

Update on the European release

Tomorrow should've been a great day for many of you, but unfortunately, the release of Children of the Nile for all of Europe has been set to February the 4th. The good news is that all copies of the game will include the same bonus disk that was also delivered to people from the US who pre-ordered their copy. The disk includes art, videos and music and will even be localised.

I can hear you think: Finally! What took them so long?

Well, the answer has many parts. First of all we needed a good way to show you the different options that are available on the world map without spoiling things. I'm glad to say that Pecunia did a marvelous bit of programming and created us a great way to display them. Then there was the problem of how to do the walkthroughs, as they can't really be blueprints, so we decided for recipes, like we did for Zeus and Emperor. And then...then there was this seraph who just couldn't get his last scenario finished.
Oh well, he's finally finished it.

The release of Children of the Nile for the rest of the world is coming closer and closer and I'm sure some of you have already pre-ordered their copy. For those who haven't really made up their mind yet, we've added 4 new reviews to the Reviews section.

Version 1.2 Patch released

Tilted Mill have finished their second patch for Children of the Nile. Weighing over 37 MB it fixes the issues listed below. I added a link to the patch on the downloads central, you do not need to have the v1.1 patch installed for the v1.2 patch to work. Enjoy!
New fixes in the second patch:
# Crash due to figures unable to attend a funeral
# Crash caused by priest migration
# World level traders were getting stuck at the edge of the map in some scenarios
# Crash when stuck traders were robbed by raiders
# Figures sometimes got stuck trying to board reed boats
# Service building activation and visitation text was not updating properly
# Accessibility keys were not functioning properly within the game and menus
# Laborers were not properly using some barge landings
# Buildings with docks (barge landings, quays, shipwrights) should now be easier to place
# Nobles engaged in leisure hunting were sometimes unable to reach certain targets
# Charioteer attack animation updated
# Children sometimes skating instead of walking
# World level merchant transaction headings were improperly labeled
# Shops sometimes refused to sell goods
# Four digit prestige values did not display properly
# The palace could not be rebuilt if destroyed in the second tutorial
# World level sites that required limestone blocks sometimes counted those already used in pyramids
# Weapon quantities were displaying improperly on the world level
# Several fixes for scenario and campaign text
