wolfie has submitted the first modification for Children of the Nile. It makes a part of the interface transparent and as simple as it may sound, it's actually a very pleasant change! If you click on the small example below, you will see a full screenshot. Notice how the townhouse can be seen under the interface.
As with all modifications, it is advised to make back ups of the files you are going to change. It's easiest to copy the whole backgrounds folder once. The exact location of the map is: Children of the Nile\data\Graphics\interface\backgrounds
