1407 CE - Your family comes from a long line of skilled architects. This is why Emperor Yongle, the third emperor of the illustrious Ming dynastic line, has appointed you to build a private city for his family within the bustle of Beijing. This will be no easy task, as you must carefully balance privacy, functionality and geomancy.
That was the storyline introduction when this campaign first appeared at the CityBuildingContests.net site in January of 2005. This campaign was built as part of a series of CB building competitions packaged as "Golden Ages" beauty contests. Until now, it has only been available for download at the CBC site.
Since it's release, this campaign's custom map has remained the closest historical representation of the actual topography of the Forbidden City that was ever built for this game.
The campaign itself is peaceful and not difficult, since the focus of the design was to empower the player to build a beautiful city without undue distractions. A player will interact with 7 historically-accurate cities. Resources, commodities, and available structures follow the Emperor model for the steel age.
Two extra files are included in this download. One is a jpg file named 'IFC_Contest_Results_with_minimaps.jpg'. It shows the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place participants of the contest (congratulations again to Kach!), and includes minimap images of their cities. The second is a text file named 'IFC_Contest_Rules.txt', and contains the original instructions and judging criteria that was given to the contest participants.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This campaign is rated 'normal', and is suitable for players of all experience levels.
Mission 1 - The Imperial Forbidden City - no time limit, starts in 1407 CE.
