The theme for the Lotus campaign seems to be limited space and terrain challenges - for this map (and the M4 continuation) players need to place housing, service areas, farms etc within a tight space riddled with water channels. Placing the housing to the north meant a slightly longer wait for peasants to arrive but provided a larger workforce in due time - a trade off.
Wow, what a build! So different from what I did. Your layout doesn't provide the fastest immigration but your centralized trade area is perfectly located near the map's entry point to provide the fastest trader cycling.
Good job summoning the Monkey King too! He's great in a fight!

I didn't study your gallery until after the mission and was also surprised how different the builds were - it is a sign of a good map (especially one so space limited) when multiple layouts work equally well.
