Terrible rumors arrived to the Empire: it seems distant people coming from the sea intend to establish outposts in our lands. This rumour caused revolts in many cities, afraid the weak forces of the Emperor will not be able to protect them. The Emperor, besides defending the Kingdom, needs to peacefy many cities.
The Emperor is concerned that our armies are not prepared. There is only one hope: recently our scientists discovered how to make new and stronger weapons, they are made with steel, made from iron.
Unfortunately iron is hard to find. Our Heavenly Empeor has sent messengers to the most distant places in our land searching for this metal, after many months just a few have returned with good news. However, there is difficulty, the iron source lays in an lake island on the desert. Furthermore, this is the most uninhabitable place, surrounded by insurmountable dunes, where, it is said, almost nothing can be cultivated.
Emperor pledged his best governors to take the challenge and adventure into this prohibited land to provide the Empire with this precious metal. After much negociation, a few fierce men agreed to take the adventure, although the Emperor had to promise make heavenly efforts to make trade availlable and get a few supplies to them. As time is short, all governors will take one of the master scientists to teach them how the make steel. Make found your city and make steel as quickly as you can. But beware; not all the governors are friendly, actually most of them are just waiting a moment of weakness to attack you, showing the Emperor he is the most powerfull one.
Meanwhile, the Empire cheers for our new governors, while eagerly waiting for the material to arrive.

Okay, however I kept getting demands from a city that were nearly impossible to fulfill. They broke off trade with me, and I had no where else to sell all my carved jade to satisfy the treasury goal.
It's very difficult to make a successful half-economy and half-military scenario, especially with high goals like these. It took me quite some time to complete -- 2.5 times my average campaign time.
It was very unique, in a good way.
Map Design: 3
I really liked the idea of making a little island with all the iron ore, however the map was the exact same thing for all the cities, which affected my rating.
The story line was much better than other custom multiplayer scenarios I've seen.
I would probably play this scenario again, athough some points may be frustrating. Some areas could have been improved, but it was still enjoyable.
