There are 5 types of Fort in the game, Catapult, Cavalry, Chariot, Crossbowmen and Infantry. For details on each see the Military Forts table. You can have up to 12 forts in your city but you must meet certain building/housing requirements to get them.
City walls can help protect your city from invaders.
City Gates are placed over walls with a vacant space to allow a road to pass through your wall.
Towers are useful for defence against enemies, spies and predator animals. You must man them under the Military Tab.
