Guan Yin - The Goddess of Mercy
Guan Yin's, also often called Kwan Yin, name means "One who hears the cries of the world". She is a Buddhist bodhisattva, which is a soul who is fully realized and no longer needs to reincarnate, but chooses to do so in order to enlighten others. She is said to have the virtues of mercy, modesty, courage, justice, and wisdom. Guan Yin is the Goddess to whom childless women turn to for help as do those who are ill or troubled and she is one of the most popular Buddhist dieties.
These days she is usually portrayed in a feminine manner, sometimes as a thousand armed figure, or as a more mortal looking woman, often with a child on one arm. Prior to somewhere around the 10th century CE though she was portrayed as a male, and this interpretation is still seen sometimes. Guan Yin is also worshipped in Japan as the Buddhist Goddess Kannon.
You must have a Buddhist Pagoda (not just a shrine) in your city to call a Buddhist Hero
Evolves without the usually required desirability, effect lasts for 6 months. Normally I evolve wells very early in a mission for the extra health benefit so I doubt if I would ever use this blessing.
In the manual and QRC it incorrectly says that Guan Yin blesses houses reducing unrest. She doesn't bless the houses but she does act as a Watchtower Guard reducing unrest when she passes them.
HALVES THE BUILDING COST OF
Tai Chi park
Halves cost of bribes.
This can be a huge benefit in some missions, if you wish to bribe your way through invasions rather than have a fighting Hero in the city. This benefit is particularly valuable at harder difficulty levels as the cost of bribes increases substantially as difficulty increases, the multipliers are - VeryEasy=5, Easy=7, Normal=10, Hard=14, VeryHard=20.
In Multiplayer the attacking player also only receives half the bribe he normally would, which can be another big advantage to you.
