The First Emperor’s City
As was foreseen by the sages, the might of the forces of Qin was irresistible. Following the fall of the ignoble kingdom of Han, the states of Zhao, Wei and the once-powerful Shu also succumbed. Now for the first time, from north of the great Yellow river to south of the wide Yangzi, all civilized people bow low to the Tiger of Qin, King Zheng, son of Zhuang Xiang of Qin. Our triumphant leader, to properly set himself above other mere kings and princes, has taken the befitting title of Shi Huangdi, or First Emperor.
A glittering new capital is needed and a Grand Palace for our noble emperor. An impressive new road, the Imperial Way, will be an excellent choice for the royal ward an upper class neighborhoods. Our exalted emperor no doubt has many great projects in mind for his capital that he has not yet told us of, so do not squander the land and its resources!

- Large Palace must be built
- 200 people in Impressive Compound or better
After completing the first mission of the Qin Dynasty you will begin to set up the large city of Xianyang. This city will hold three magnificent monuments when all is completed so it is wise to plan out your city carefully.
During the first mission in this city you are required to build a Large Palace and have a population of 200 residents living in Impressive Compounds. With that in mind, you must set up your farming and trade as soon as you settle in. Plan on holding a good sized population in the city for later monument building and your layout will work out just fine.
I started my city north of the river to the left side of the map. This is the closest point I found for immigrants entering the map and helped me get the city up and running fast. You do have the capability of producing the four foods needed for your goals, and you also have silk production available. You will need to trade for lacquer however. As you get your city moving along, it would also be a good idea to either trade, request or produce weapons yourself. Later in the mission you will be invaded and being prepared is always a good plan.
You will receive gifts of wood and weapons during the mission but do not rely on those things to keep you safe. Producing your own supplies through trading for the needed resources is always faster in the long run and keeping a good treasury will avert any major threats. With the palace and impressive compounds now available you can actually maximize your military strength and be safe from attack. Having a hero in the city is also very beneficial.
Remember to plan out your city layout to provide for a large population and have enough farming available to feed everyone and you should have no trouble completing the mission. Weapons will be requested from you late in the mission as well. So make sure that you are trading for iron and producing some weapons in order to keep your neighbors happy. I also gathered up some animals during this mission and was able to hold a few in the menagerie. This will be required later on in the campaign.
