The Terracotta Army

You have been a much-traveled person these last few years, Imperial Administrator. Now, however, your appearance is requested back at Xianyang. While our emperor, Shi Huangdi, has been busy standardizing the currency and simplifying the alphabet, he has also been contemplating what the next world has in store for him. His on-going quest for the magical elixir of eternal life has not yet been rewarded. Fearing death, he knows he must be well prepared if he is to be adequately protected and comforted in the afterlife. It is for these important tasks that your humble services are required.
For the emperor’s security in the next world a vast pit must be dug and then filled with a powerful army. Each member of this underground army will be a full-size terracotta likeness of an actual soldier of our armed forces. For his comfort a tomb must also be dug, and stocked with quantities of fine provisions. The tomb will then be crowned by a magnificent Grand Tumulus that will proudly rise high above the city.
While construction proceeds on these projects, a visit by the venerated Xi Wang Mu might help to speed up the building process.

In the final mission of the Qin Dynasty you once again return to your Emperor’s city. The task you have now will take a good length of time to play and you will need to increase your population in order to fulfill the goals in a timely manner. I added a completely new housing block to this map and also added several more military structures to make sure everything stayed safe. You will need to keep close tabs on all of your trade in order to keep the citizens well fed and also increase your treasury. The large cash goal can easily be achieved through the trading of silk and lacquerware. All of the monument work will take time, but with the micromanaging required the mission plays out nicely.

As your population grows, so does the need to monitor all of the available goods in the city. You will want to make sure you are producing enough clay and wood to have a large surplus on hand. The monument requirements will move much too slow if you are only producing small amounts of clay for ceramics, and wood for weapons.

I planned out my housing block in the lower right portion of the map. I found this gave me good access to farm lands and allowed me to mine ore in a good and timely manner. The other side of the canal may be set up for wood, stone and your canal work sites. A fort may also be a handy thing to have in the upper portion of the map to protect you against any possible invasions. If you plan well, you will have enough cash on hand to bribe any would be attackers.

Place your labour camps and ceramists as well as carpenters near the monument sites. By doing this, you will complete the goals a little faster. Also make sure you pay homage to your heroes in order to speed up production.

If you have not got all of the needed animals in your menagerie yet, now is the time to start sending off animals as gifts to the surrounding cities. You may send any animal you have in your menagerie to other cities. You will not lose the ones you have. Keep in mind that all cities in the same climate zones carry the same animals. So in order to gather up the eight animals needed, you will want to gift cities in all of the different climates. Sending two different types of animals to one city will produce two gifts of different animals in return.

Once you have completed all of the goals in this mission, you can sit back and think about how much effort must have been put forward to actually produce all of these magnificent structures a few thousand years ago.
