Turbulent Winds - Spring and Autumn Weather

Most trusted advisor, it seems nothing can stop the detestable Xiongnu. Despite strenuous efforts to halt their forays into the Ordos, they managed to break through -- and now our once proud city of Hao has been ignominiously sacked! It seems the soldiers did not rally when the beacon fires were lit, as too many times before King You had them fired just to see the smile on the face of a petulant concubine. You Wang now lies dead in the ashes of Hao and our new regent, Ping Wang, fears for his life. For this reason, the capital is moving eastward.
It is your good fortune, noble commissioner, that engineers have already constructed strong defenses at Loyi. However, the site for a Temple Complex must still be staked out. More income from trade can be had by striking coins at the mint, and soldiers armed with powerful crossbows can now protect the city. Nutritious soybeans will supplement your citizens' diet. The river provides tasty fish, but also a certain danger, as heavy spring rains can cause flash floods.

Another walled city. The immigrants come from the southwest corner of the map.

There is plenty of room inside the walls to build 2 blocks of common houses (mine were evolved up to Spacious Dwellings), a nice sized block of Elites and the Mill, Markets and associated warehouses.

I planted all my mulberry trees out front of the city walls so I could have a rapid turn around on selling Silk. The area behind the walls was used for farms and making ceramics. And I fished on the river. That was the only gate I moved, to allow the fish to be delivered more directly to the mill. Fishing was a big part of their diet until the farms were producing regularly.

After I got some workers making silk, I started mining the copper ore in the hills. I made Bronzeware to sell, and also made weapons. True to form, I didn’t bother building any forts. Didn’t seem to hurt any thing.

The monument takes a long time. It requires first wood and carpenters, then laborers, a ceramicist with clay and finally some stone and masons to complete the walled garden. Start early.

I usually keep an eye on the Ancestral Heroes and pay homage if I have to. Still, I had an earthquake and a flood. Don’t forget to rebuild your fishing quays after a flood.

You can buy some salt from the traders to up your food supply to Tasty for the Elites. With the trade and taxes you should have quite a treasury. You will notice on the Government tab that you have a mint. You can even make your own money
