This is my Xianyang, part of a recent replay of some missions to get perfect harmony. Some notes:
- The entire city is in perfect harmony. No buildings were placed in inauspicious locations.
- All housing was evolved as high as possible to provide the most workers.
- There is a central distribution area and all market squares are well within reach of the Mill/Warehouses. With the exception of the Grand Market Squares, they're served by a single inspector in a loop.
- The market squares were all placed outside of their housing blocks, accessing their associated housing block with residential walls.
- Every housing block has access to Daoism, which allowed for Xi Wang Mu to be summoned with ease.
- Debt does not occur. Therefore, free money was not obtained from any city.
In terms of mission difficulty, this mission is ridiculously easy. You don't need to send any diplomatic requests to any city, except the Nomad Camps, because everyone allies with you at the start. The exception is Shu, who become a vassal that rebels instantly, because you have no forts. Therefore, all the starting funds should be used in just building the city, since you can set up the silk industry whenever you need to start making money.
The silk industry was placed as close to the river entry point as possible. This meant trade happened quickly for Linzi, as a water trade route. Some jade was imported from the Nomad Camps later and turned into Carved Jade for a future export when I return here. The monument is a doddle to complete and was done last. My primary focus was just to build a huge city so that, when I return here, I don't have to do much with the city.
The early gift of wood from Huanxian was received and immediately dispatched to Linzi, who needed most of it. Other than the gifts of Wood, it was mostly used in the monument and not stockpiled.
The military aspect of the mission was started a little late. As a result, the first request of troops to Huanxian was not fulfilled, but it didn't harm my favour with them anyway. The second request for troops was fulfilled on time with numerous forts. The rebellion at Shu was quelled peacefully, with no military used to stop the rebellion. Large ceramics gifts were used to quell that rebellion.
Once Shu stopped rebelling, the Lacquerware industry was started. To earn even more money, Lacquerware was exported to Wu and Ying, as the main buyers. All houses were taxed to ensure higher incomes were reached.
Due to the huge distance between the suitable fishing points and the main city, Shu also sold me Rice in reasonable quantity. Roads were marked out for future fishing quays, but were not all utilised due to worker shortages.
When I return, I will probably need a fourth common housing block, which will get its own food and hemp supply, as a ridiculous number of Labourer's Camps will be needed for the Underground Vault. Overall, I enjoyed this mission and am glad that I got the whole city in perfect harmony.
I completed the mission as follows:
* Perfect Harmony
* Finished in Nov 202 BCE (19 years)
* Final Treasury: 135451 Cash
* 2 Menagerie Animals (should've captured the Pheasant for 3)
* Large Palace built |
